Growing Flowers for Cutting

Come and make that extra special gift for Mother’s Day with a unique hand-tied posy. Or even bring your Mum/Grandmother/Daughter/Granddaughter along too and spend time learning how to make gorgeous posies together!

During this workshop you will learn about picking and conditioning British homegrown country flowers and how to use them in posies and bouquets.

You’ll also discover the right foliage to compliment the flowers and the best way to display your beautifully finished posy.

You’ll be proudly taking home posies that you have made yourself with lots of love.

Spring Wreaths

Using Willow, Dogwood, Birch and Alder we will be making natural wreath bases and decorating them with fresh flowers, foliage and ribbons.  Learn about picking and conditioning spring flowers for posies, wreaths or garlands.

Bouquets, Urns and Vase Arrangements

Using flowers and foliage to create larger arrangements but without the use of floral foam.

Bring along a vase, urn or bowl and learn how to create a stunning table centrepiece, taller church arrangements or use an unusual shaped container for a real show stopper!

You’ll be using supports and materials that are fully reusable, making it kinder to the environment and cheaper for you.  There are lots of ways of displaying flowers using hidden supports and beautiful containers.

We will also look at creating larger bouquets as gifts and ideas on how to wrap and present them. A busy and full workshop with lots to do and things to try!

New Plants for Free!

Flower crowns for kids!

Gardening with Bulbs

Now is the time to plant bulbs for a stunning Spring display. Narcissi, tulips, crocus and allium can all be used for brilliant early Spring interest and colour.

Whether you want to put these wonderful flowers in garden borders or pots, this workshop will teach you the best way to use them, and where to place them for maximum effect.  Everyone makes up a container of bulbs in a ‘Bulb Lasagne’ with different varieties combining to make an attractive early Spring feature.

All materials are supplied along with refreshments and are included in the cost of £40 per person.  There will also be additional bulbs available for sale including Crocus, Narcissi and lots of tulips!

Christmas Wreaths

Learn how to make a traditional Christmas wreath using fresh seasonal foliage, cones, berries and ribbons.

This year there is also an opportunity to make a completely eco-friendly version using all compostable or recyclable materials eg willow, compostable twine, moss, dried flowers and fruit.  If you have attended one of our wreath workshops before, bring back your original metal ring to reuse again and save one more item from landfill!
